A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in an accident involving a passenger vehicle Tuesday evening at the intersection of Godwin Boulevard and Sack Point Road.

Emergency Communications was alerted of the situation at 9:12 p.m., and both Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to the incident.

The adult male driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained on the scene.

The press release stated that the roadway was closed in both directions and was expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
