Arrest made following carjacking

A Suffolk man has been arrested on charges relating to a carjacking that happened Tuesday.
Police arrested Mycael Leon Parker, 32, early Wednesday morning on charges including carjacking and simple assault and battery, according to a city press release.
Police found a woman had been at a residence in the 100 block of St. James Ave. about 8:08 p.m. Tuesday with several known individuals. Following a verbal altercation, she was physically assaulted and forcefully removed from her vehicle when she attempted to leave, the press release stated.
Several of the involved individuals left the scene in the car, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, the release stated.
The vehicle was located Wednesday morning. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests and charges are forthcoming, the press release stated.
