Isabell Powell, 82, of Suffolk, transitioned Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Concordia Transitional Care-Nansemond Pointe. She was the daughter of the late Mary Lou Gary and Will Harris; besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Wright; sister, Idabell Chapman, and brother, James Arthur Wright.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Rosemary Blanchard (Keith), of Suffolk; son, Robert Powell (Thomasine, devoted friend), of Suffolk; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held from 5 to 7p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Pastor Keith Mayfield will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in the Crocker Funeral Home section of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
