Walter Herman Britt III

Walter Herman Britt III, 76, passed away Sept. 4, 2018. He was born in Richmond, the son of the late Walter “Piggy” H. Britt II and Ruth James Moore. He worked as a self-employed commodity broker. Walter was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He was a founding member of the Nansemond River Duck Club, an avid outdoorsman, and duck hunter.
Walter is survived by his wife, Linda J. Britt; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Mason Kincaid (Steve), Nancy Jordan Thiel (John) and Sarah Deschamps; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, James L. Moore (Linda), and Thomas J. Moore; and special cousins, Billy M. Mallory, Nancy T. Mathis and Connie C. Day.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Thomas J. Moore.
