Overnight and early morning heavy rains have affected several roadways throughout the area.

A listing of roads that were affected and may still be is as follows:

  • Buckhorn Drive at Deer Path Road
  • Quaker Drive at Box Elder Road
  • Quaker Drive at Lummis Road
  • 4000 block of O’Kelly Drive near Quaker Road Bridge — signs are posted at both ends of the bridge; the roadway is impassable
  • Indian Trail, Deer Path Road and Buckhorn Drive all have water but are passable
  • The 3700 to 4700 block of Old Mill Road has high water and is only passable by large truck
  • The 100 block of Dutch Road at Cumberland Lane has water across the roadway but is passable

Public Works crews have placed high water signs and road closed signs.

Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution when driving in areas affected by heavy rains. Even if the water appears shallow enough to cross, don’t risk it. If you see a flooded-out road ahead, turn around and find another route to your destination. Six inches of water reaches the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control or possible stalling.
