Dorothy Lawrence entered eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, in Virginia Beach. She was born Aug. 1, 1948, in Franklin, to the late Cleveland Lawrence and Alease Porter Lawrence.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Byron Lawrence Sr. (Terri), of Suffolk; three grandchildren: Javaughn Gray (Jasmine), of Virginia Beach, Daleeyah Lawrence and Byron Lawrence Jr. of Suffolk; four sisters: Sarah Parker, Eva Hunter (LaSalle), Barbara Parker, all of Suffolk, and Eula Reese, of Hampton; one sister-in-law, Nellie Lawrence Matthews, of Franklin; and a foster sister, Sandra Romain-Carter, of Chesapeake. Dorothy is predeceased by her son, Stefan Lawrence, parents, Cleveland and Alease Lawrence, her two brothers, Cleveland Lawrence Jr. and Stewart Kelvin Lawrence, nephew, Willard C. Parker, and niece, Teddra Lawrence.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Bethany Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home going service. You may send condolences to the family at www.vharrisfuneralhome.com.
