Former Nansemond River High School standout Brandon Lowe was selected a Minor League All-Star.
Lowe is currently playing in the majors for the Tampa Bay Rays, but that didn’t stop him from being recognized in the minors. For his strong year there, Lowe was selected a second-team All-Star. He made a lot of noise in the minors by hitting 22 home runs this season.
Since being called up to the majors in early August, Lowe has been standing out ever since. He currently has 20 hits, 15 RBIs and four home runs. His last homer came on Sept. 9 against the Baltimore Orioles, where he hit a three-run homer.
At Nansemond River, he helped the Warriors to district titles. He was also an All-District, All-Region and All-State selection.
