I got a generator, sandbags and lots of water. My child didn’t have school for four days, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Canned food. Lots of canned food. We got ready to evacuate and had to make hotel reservations with two dogs and a cat, then get enough water. I was honestly more annoyed that everything was closed, like the library. It was too crummy to be outside with the wind and rain.

I’m a Floridian, and prepared the same way (everyone else) did. It was par for the course (and) I wasn’t bothered. I do feel terrible for all those people that it did hit.

We just picked up some supplies. Sure, that included all the baby stuff for my son, water, extra food and rubber boots. This was my first time preparing for a hurricane (and) it was a very different experience. It was really intense, but I’m really grateful for how it turned out for us.
