There are still some tickets left for the annual Peanut Fest Queen’s Banquet, but tickets must be purchased by this Saturday.
The event begins at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront, 100 E. Constance Road. Doors open and the silent auction begins at 6 p.m.
During the event, 10 young ladies — two from each public and private high school in Suffolk — will be presented as peanut princesses. One of them will be named the queen based on criteria such as a pre-written essay, community involvement, school activities and awards and achievements.
Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased by this Saturday by visiting the Suffolk Visitor Center, 524 N. Main St., or calling 620-3256.
The peanut princesses, one of whom will be named the 2018 Peanut Queen at the banquet, are as follows:
King’s Fork High School: Audre Davis and Johanna Milburn
Lakeland High School: Deja Grays and Terlia Mercer
Nansemond River High School: Katherine Chafian and Mackenzie West
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy: Bridget McKneely and Sarah Perdue
Suffolk Christian Academy: Haley Adams and Kaitlyn Brittingham
