To the editor:

I want to thank the City of Suffolk and all the employees that helped make this year’s Taste of Suffolk a huge success.

It appeared to be a record turnout, and the weather fully cooperated. The food was delicious, and a good number of vendors participated. The children’s events were a special treat for so many kids. It was great seeing my fellow Suffolkians walking up and down North Main Street and West Washington Street tasting the delicious food, having a good time and dancing to the bands.

This is how downtown Suffolk should look more often than not. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I encourage the city to look for more ways to attract people downtown.
