“The girls played very well,” Coach Ashley Skinner said. “They organized dynamic passing combinations and used their elimination skills to dodge defense. We will take what we learned out there and continue to push forward for a tough Great Bridge team.”

It is encouraging to get those results, as it gives the team confidence heading into big matchups. King’s Fork even brought a couple of girls up from JV who contributed. That will do well for their confidence for the tough matchups.

“It was a good win for us. Everyone got involved,” Skinner said. “It was a good win for us to build some momentum. We still have to be focused and get ready for the competition we are facing next.”

Great Bridge is a quality opponent and regarded as one of the best in South Hampton Roads. They have a lot of speed, and they are dynamic on the ball.

King’s Fork sits at 6-4 on the season with a few shutouts and feels good about the team’s progress.

“I feel good about where we are,” Skinner said. “There are some things we could have done better, but we are taking steps in the right direction. We want to finish up strong the rest of the season.”

The Lady Bulldogs will take on Great Bridge at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
