There was no shortage of scoring for the Lady Cavs field hockey team as they defeated Booker T. Washington High School 12-0.
For their second game in three days Lakeland High School got a road win against Booker T. on Tuesday. Six Lady Cavs added goals, with Makayla Snyder leading the way with three. Aryn Kinsey, Sydney Beale and Kaleigh Bell tied for second on the team with two goals each.
In back-to-back games, Lakeland has outscored their opponents 20-0. They’ve been able to put up big numbers on offense while the defense severely hampered their opponents.
Lakeland has built significant momentum for its showdown with rival Nansemond River High School Wednesday evening. The two teams scrimmaged each other before the season started, so they are familiar with each other. Lady Warriors Coach Allison Dize mentioned after the scrimmage that Lakeland really challenged them defensively.
However, both teams have played a good number of games and progressed since then. Lakeland has wins under its belt against bigger schools this season and could add Nansemond River to that total as well.
It will be Nansemond River’s first game of the week while the Lady Cavs will be on their third in as many days. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeland.
