Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, aunt and grandmother. She was a caring and highly respected nurse of more than 40 years and was admired by other nurses as a “nurse’s nurse.” She was an academic scholar at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., where she earned her Registered Nurse credential, and, later, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She maintained a 4.0 grade point average at both institutions. In her “spare time,” she was a helpful mentor to many who sought her wisdom and guidance, voracious reader and lifelong learner of the arts and culture, a Master Gardener, and an accomplished artist who enjoyed charcoal sketching, creating oil and water color paintings, and forming sculptures in wire, wax, clay, metal and stone.
Patricia was the beloved daughter of Mildred and Sylvester Clark of Warren, Pa., and was born on Oct. 18, 1933. She is predeceased by her husband, John Edward Gersbach Sr., and her sister, Jean White (Clark). She is survived by her children: John Edward Gersbach Jr. and his wife, Brenda Twine, and John’s two sons, Christopher and Benjamin; Dr. Jeffrey Gersbach and his wife, Lori, and their four children, Hannah Brabham (Gersbach), Molly, Samuel and Francis; Marcus Gersbach and his wife, Hilary, and their daughters, Meredith and Lauren, and Hilary’s daughter, Marie; and Melanie Venderwege (Gersbach) and her son. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara, and her husband, Ronald Fox.
