Suffolk Police on Friday responded to a report of a shooting and ended up pursuing a vehicle from the scene.
A report came in at 8:52 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 200 block of North Fourth Street, city spokesman Andy Franklin said on Friday night. Police located a victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg that was not believed to be life-threatening, Franklin said.
Officers observed a vehicle recklessly leaving the scene and pursued the vehicle up Nansemond Parkway, where the vehicle crashed just on the other side of the Chesapeake city line, Franklin stated.
Two suspects were detained, and one was still at large. The detective bureau and Chesapeake K-9 units were on the scene, Franklin stated.
