To the editor:

Based on her educational experiences, values and fresh perspective, it is with confidence that I say endorsing Sherri Story for School Board is a smart choice.

Sherri is a unique candidate, because she has experience in the classroom as an educator in today’s schools. As a teacher myself, I know how important it is to have a voice be heard, especially the needs and desires from a teacher’s perspective. Who will listen and take action? We constantly hear that school systems must do better, and I believe that Sherri can help make that change and be an integral voice for the community.

Sherri has a passion and commitment to education, and she will be an active advocate for the school district, as she has advocated for her students and her parents through her own experiences as a teacher. If you’ve ever seen her in action, you know that she carefully crafts her lessons and creates an atmosphere for her students that is untraditional, yet remarkably functional and motivating. She sets the standards high, and the students strive for success! She proves that she is innovative, has a growth mindset and cares about the future. Just imagine what she can bring to the table!

Sherri is also known for always having an idea and takes the lead to put those ideas into action. I admire her for her multitude of talents, her selflessness and her focus for positive change. She shows that she is fearless through her confidence and willingness to learn, grow and take risks for a city and school system that she loves.
