Part of Carolina Road was closed Monday morning as crews cleaned up a two-vehicle crash with a fuel spill.

The accident was reported at 7:40 a.m. in the 3400 block of Carolina Road near Cypress Chapel Road. It involved a passenger vehicle and tractor-trailer.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was evaluated by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel, but no one was transported to the hospital.

The roadway was completely closed for a period of time in both directions. Later, only northbound traffic was detoured onto Cypress Chapel Road. The road reopened later in the morning.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
