Lady Warriors take down Lady Braves

Nansemond River High School girls’ volleyball team got a 3-1 win over Indian River High School on the road last Friday.

The Lady Warriors picked up their fourth win in a row when they went on the road to take on Indian River. Nansemond River picked up the win in four sets. It was the third game of the week for a Lady Warriors team that defeated both of its cross-town rivals during the streak.

Taylor Paquette led the way with 19 kills, 20 digs and three aces. Keyanna Barrington added nine kills. Deandra Moore led in aces with four, with Barrington tied with Paquette with three. Moore also added 17 digs.

The Lady Warriors will take on Hickory High School at 6 p.m. Tuesday. They will finish the regular season Wednesday night with another matchup with Indian River. There is a good chance Nansemond River can go into the postseason with a nice winning streak.
