“That was a really important win for us,” senior Kaleigh Bell said. “This game definitely gave us a boost of confidence going into this next game as the playoffs continue.”

The Lady Cavs admit that at first they didn’t know what to expect from Colonial Heights; they simply came out and played the way they knew how to play.

Darcy Kilgore led the way with two goals. Makayla Snyder and Ashton Moore also added goals. Alexa Snyder, Allison Thompson and Sarah Stansick added goals as well.

“We all worked together to get the win,” Snyder said. “We knew we wanted to go far in the playoffs, and it was going to start with this game right here.”

Lakeland will go on the road Tuesday evening to take on Poquoson High School at 6 p.m.
