Roxanne M. Johnson passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at the age of 58. She was born on April 3, 1960.

A native of Nansemond County, she attended Forest Glen High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Edna Matthews, and her son, Darryl Matthews.

Roxanne leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Leroy Johnson; daughter, Cheryl Saunders (Walter); granddaughters, Amia Matthews and De’ja Saunders; grandson, Jordan Saunders; sisters, Alice D. Matthews, Lauretta Halsey; brothers, Rodney Matthews, Richard Porter, John Halsey; a special nephew, Randy Matthews; and a host of other family and friends.

The visitation for Ms. Johnson will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Antioch United Church of Christ, and she will be laid to rest at Holly Lawn Cemetery.
