Carrollton bank robbed

Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking into a robbery at the Old Point National Bank in Carrollton on Friday afternoon.
The robbery at the bank in the 13000 block of Carrollton Boulevard was reported at 3:05 p.m., according to a press release from the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect is believed to be a black male dressed in a woman’s wig, large sunglasses and leggings and carrying a purse. The robbery presented a note demanding cash and then fled on foot toward Smith Neck Road and the NEST 17 apartment complex.
A similar crime happened on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at a Wells Fargo bank in the 3900 block of Portsmouth Boulevard in Chesapeake. There, a black male dressed in women’s clothing — including a black wig and sunglasses — held up the bank about 1:13 p.m.
