The Virginia High School League has released the second pairings for the regional playoffs, and two Suffolk teams will be on the road.
King’s Fork High School and Nansemond River High School are the only Suffolk football teams left in the playoffs. Last week, the Bulldogs picked up an upset win over Deep Creek High School, and the Warriors shut out Kecoughtan High School.
King’s Fork will take on Lake Taylor High School, and Nansemond River will take on Indian River High School.
Nansemond River will face the No. 1 seed in the Class 5A region on the road. It will be the second matchup between the two teams. Last time, NRHS dropped the game 42-6. Since that game, the Warriors were hoping for a chance to match up with the dominant Braves.
The Bulldogs will take on an unfamiliar opponent in Lake Taylor, which is the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A region. Lake Taylor has won four of its last five games.
Both games will be 7 p.m. Friday.
