Nansemond River High School led Suffolk with two selections on the All-District girls’ volleyball teams.
It was a good year for the Lady Warriors as opposed to their Suffolk counterparts in the Southeastern District. Nansemond River had the best record of the Suffolk schools in the Southeastern District, and they also took the city title this year.
As a result of the solid season, Nansemond River had multiple representatives on the all-district teams. Taylor Paquette led the way being selected first team all-district. This was Paquette’s second year with the team after transferring in last year.
Deandra Moore was the other Lady Warrior that made an all-district team, as she made the second team.
Suffolk did have three girls considered for district teams as honorable mentions. Alana Moore of Lakeland High School was an honorable mention, while Zanaya Brown and Cristal Bell were also honorable mentions. Brown was the only representative of King’s Fork High School on either team or honorable mention. Bell was the third Lady Warrior to be recognized.
