Mike Duman Auto Sales will be helping those in need this holiday season by giving 10 families in need $100 gift cards.

This is the first time Mike Duman has held an event like this, and he is more than happy to give back to his Suffolk community.

“I just sat down with Sarah (Johnston), and we wanted to do a little extra this particular holiday season,” Duman said. “The citizens of Suffolk have been good to me, and it’s rewarding to pay back a little bit of it.”

People that want to have a chance to receive the $100 must fill out a nomination form on mikeduman.com.

The form requires a small story to explain the need. Some people have already submitted their stories to Duman, and the response has been overwhelming.

“I think we’ve gotten more of a response than what we thought we would get,” Duman said. “There is a lot of need in our community, and I didn’t feel like it wasn’t going to be an issue. We have gotten a little bit more than we anticipated.”

Duman plans to sit down with all of his managers to choose the 10 people that will receive the gift cards.

Submissions will be accepted until Dec. 14, and they will announce the recipients on Dec. 15.

The gift cards are not the only generosity that Duman and his company plan this holiday season.

Those that adopt an animal from the Suffolk Animal Care Center can bring proof to the auto store throughout the entire month of December and receive a $25 cash refund or a $50 gift card for any services or products at Mike Duman Auto Sales.
