Police have identified the man who died in a crash on Whaleyville Boulevard on Monday evening.

Robbin Pierce, 58, was the driver and only occupant of the van that crashed head-on with a pickup truck, according to a city press release. He died at the scene.

The four occupants of the pickup truck were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation, and no further information is available for release.
