The Nansemond River Pilot Club is offering a way to ring in the New Year in Suffolk.

The club’s New Year’s Eve Bash is in its third year this year and will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront, 100 E. Constance Road. Tickets are $50, and the hotel is offering rooms at a discounted rate.

Becky Adams of the Pilot Club said people should consider the event because it’s local and supports local Suffolk events.

“We are trying to boost events in Suffolk,” she said. “And you don’t have to worry about going home for the evening after you’ve had a fun night, because the Hilton is offering hotel rooms at a discounted rate, so you can party and then just go upstairs at your room.”

The event is more convenient for Suffolk folks than other events in the area, Adams noted.

“We’re trying to keep people in the Suffolk area, versus having them go to the beach or to Norfolk for parties,” she said.

The evening will include a full-course buffet dinner, a live DJ, dancing and a champagne toast at midnight, as well as party favors. There will also be a live stream of the Times Square ball drop in New York City.

Proceeds from the event will support the charitable efforts of the Pilot Club.

“It will go back to the community,” Adams said. “Come out and ring in the New Year with us.”

Tickets will be on sale through noon on New Year’s Eve. Tickets can be purchased at both Suffolk Insurance locations, 202 Market St. and 3575 Bridge Road, Unit 12, as well as at the Suffolk Visitor Center, 524 N. Main St.
