King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team and Deep Creek matched up for the second during the regular season on Wednesday.
Deep Creek won the first meeting home on its home floor, with the Lady Bulldogs hosting the second meeting. It came down to a game winning layup at the buzzer by Deep Creek for them to get past the Lady Bulldogs 54-53.
With that loss, King’s Fork loses the regular season series between the two. However, with Deep Creek and King’s Fork being Class 4A schools, they are likely to meet again in the postseason. Nylah Young went for 27 points in the loss.
King’s Fork will go on the road to face Great Bridge High School at 7 p.m. Friday.
