Connie Irene Truitt, 66, of Suffolk, passed away on Jan. 9, 2019, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born Feb. 1, 1952, to the late Louis and Ivy Truitt. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Thomas and Wayne Truitt; her son-in-law, Alan Polson; and her nephew Kevin Truitt.

Connie loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Her family was her life. Those left to cherish her memory are the love of her life, Delmar “Buck” Spivey; daughters, Teresa Gardner (Lorain), Debi Brooks (Rickey), of Suffolk, and Beth Polson (Lee Joyner), of Aulander, N.C.; brother Al Truitt (Rita), of Suffolk; grandchildren, Kristina Stancil (Jonathan), Meagan Barnes, Brittany Brooks, Kelsi Polson, Shayne Brooks, Kierstyn Polson and Brandyn Polson; her beloved dog, Molly, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday Jan. 12, 2019, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by Chaplain Curtis Davis. Burial will be private at Newman Memorial Cemetery in Chuckatuck.
