NR swimming defeats Bulldogs

The Warriors swim team clashed with the Bulldogs Tuesday evening at the Southside Aquatics Center.

The two rivals met in the pool with Nansemond River High School coming out victorious on both the girls’ and boys’ side. The boys’ team defeated King’s Fork High School 123-46, while the girls’ team defeated King’s Fork 112-57.

On the boys’ side, Andrew Betts took first place in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Hunter Ward had two first place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. Johnathan Sullivan, Keagan DeLong and Parker Doleman each took first in an event as well.

On the girls’ side, Haley Russell took first in the 200 freestyle and 50 freestyle. Selby Heyman took first in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle, while Ashlyn Swain placed first in two events as well. Carley Bennett also placed first in an event to wrap up the girls’ victory.
