Police investigate robbery

Suffolk Police are investigating a commercial armed robbery that happened early Tuesday morning.
The robbery was reported at 12:45 a.m. at Tammy’s Kitchen in the 600 block of East Washington Street, according to a city news release.
Preliminary investigation found that a suspect displayed a handgun and took an undetermined amount of currency before fleeing the business on foot, according to a city news release. There were no injuries.
The suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build and medium complexion. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, black ski mask, jeans with silver stitches on the pockets and tan boots.
