A suspect in a December shooting was apprehended Friday in Hampton, police say.

Travis Cobrial Chalk, 40, was wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding, shoot, cut or wound, use of firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon, and discharge of a firearm in public, according to a city press release.

The shooting took place about 1:18 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 300 block of Spruce Street. An adult male victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, the press release stated.

The Suffolk Police Department publicly identified Chalk as a suspect on Dec. 17.
