Former Team WAR standout Syaira Richardson ran a time of 53.18 last week to help Texas A&M University in the A&M Triangular meet.

Richardson moved up to No. 8 on the TAMU all-time list when she ran a time of 53.18 in the TAMU Triangular meet. So far this indoor season, Richardson looks to be fitting in well with Texas A&M University.

Coming out of Nansemond River High School in 2017, Richardson originally signed on to run at Ohio State University. Her freshman season didn’t go quite the way she wanted it to, and she was able to get a fresh start after transferring to TAMU during the summer of last year.

TAMU women’s track and field team is currently ranked No. 2 in the U.S Track & Field Cross Country and Coaches Association poll. Due to getting a full release from OSU and transferring into a different conference, Richardson did not have to sit a year before she was able to compete as NCAA rules would require in some instances.

Richardson said before she started to get recruited in high school, TAMU was her dream school, so her career has started to come full circle.
