Cavs fall in close one to Bruins

The Cavs went to 12-5 after a road loss to Western Branch High School last Friday.
The matchup featured two of the more competitive teams in the district, but Lakeland High School took a 62-57 loss. After the first quarter, the game was tied at 16 each. Lakeland knew it was going to have to keep up its momentum and continued to push for a lead in the second quarter. The Cavs went into halftime with a 35-30 lead.
Coming out of the half, the Bruins took back the momentum. They took a 56-51 lead after the third quarter. Lakeland pushed in the fourth quarter, but the Bruins were able to hold on. Raymond Bellamy led the Cavs with 17 points. Keimari Artis added 15 points.
Lakeland will have a tough matchup with Oscar Smith High School at home at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
