Cornelius Denelle Scott

Cornelius Denelle “Dee Dee” Scott, 58, answered God’s call to come to his heavenly home on Jan. 23, 2019.
Cornelius was born on Aug. 24, 1960, in Suffolk. Cornelius was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Alexander and Mary Louise Scott, and two brothers, Carroll and Dave.
Cornelius was a 1978 graduate of Suffolk High School in Suffolk. In 1988, he graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. Cornelius migrated to Evanston, Ill., where he lived for 30 years. The Lord blessed Cornelius to open his own business, Generation Copy, in 1991. He operated his business until his passing. Cornelius was a member of Second Baptist Church, Evanston, Ill., under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Nabors.
Cornelius leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his member, two sisters, Jacqueline and Joan Scott, of Suffolk; four brothers, Ricky Scott (Brenda), Timmy Scott (Yvonne), Jerome Scott (Velveteen), of Suffolk, and Lester Scott, of Richmond; aunt, Wilma Barbour (James), of Yonkers, N.Y.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his extended family, the members of Second Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Suffolk, under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Robert Hobbs, pastor. The family will receive visitors at 109 Shepherd St., Suffolk.
