Lady Bulldogs secure city title

The Lady Bulldogs secured the city title with a 71-25 home win Tuesday night over Lakeland High School.

The King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team finished the regular season winning seven of their last eight games. Two of those wins came against their Suffolk counterparts, Lakeland and Nansemond River high schools. With two meetings against each team, King’s Fork went a perfect 4-0.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by senior Nylah Young, who finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals. Senior Neecole Brown added 10 points to go along with eight assists, and Alexisa Henderson added 11 points.

Next will be the Class 4 Region A tournament for the Lady Bulldogs. They will likely go on the road as the fifth seed in the region, with opponent and day to be determined.
