Lillie H. Long

Lillie H. Long, 87, of Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, transitioned Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late George Hall and Ada H. Skinner. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George Earl Hall and Joseph Hall; sisters, Addie Sweatt and Lorraine Hardy.
Lillie was a graduate of East Suffolk High School and retired from Louise Obici Hospital as a supervisor in environmental services after 34 years of faithful and dedicated service. She was a member of Mt. Ararat Christian Church, where she served as an usher and deaconess.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Steven R. Saunders (Sandy M.) and Robert Keith Saunders, both of Suffolk; sister, Betty White (Vernon), of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Travis, Steven Jr. and Derrick Saunders; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, 1860 Airport Road, Suffolk. The Rev. H.H. Murrill will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. The family will receive guests at 608 Chisholm Lane, Suffolk, Virginia.
