Mabel R. Boothe, 56, of Third Avenue, Suffolk, transitioned Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at her residence. She was the daughter of Novella B. Holley and the late Gene H. Boothe Sr.

She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School class of 1980 and was a member of Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, Corapeake, N.C.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jeffrey Cross, of Suffolk; daughter, Kewuna Boothe-Roberts (James), of Suffolk; two sons, Vance Boothe, of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Lance Boothe, of Portsmouth; three brothers, Gene H. Boothe Jr., of Suffolk, Todd E. Boothe (Theresa), of Pottstown, Pa., and Tony E. Boothe, of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Per the family’s request, all services will be private. She will be entombed in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
