Ronald H. White

Ronald H. White, 70, of Leavenworth, Kan., passed away peacefully, March 4, 2019. He was born Aug. 23, 1948, in Suffolk, the son of the late Rupert T. White Sr. and Goldie Byrum White.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rupert T. “R.T.” White Jr., in 2012.
Ron worked as a U.S. Army civilian employee for 40 years, working at Fort Monroe from 1970 to 1976 and at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., from 1976 to 2010. At the time of his retirement, Ron was the Director of the Network Enterprise Center.
He was a member of Leavenworth First United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, a disciple class leader and chaired and served on various committees. He was passionate about God, the church and the people.
Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cindy Nelson White; two children, Brian J. White and wife, Kellie, and their children Willem and Jenna, of Platte City, Mo., and Brandon C. White and wife, Sarah, and their twin daughters, Claire and Paige, of Gardner, Kan.
He loved his family and received great joy from raising a family. He was blessed and so happy to be a Grandpa.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Leavenworth First United Methodist Church, 422 Chestnut, Leavenworth. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leavenworth First United Methodist Church. Arrangements in care of R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
