NR allows two hits in shut out

The Warriors baseball team allowed only two hits in a home win over Deep Creek High School.
Nansemond River High School started the season off strong with the 12-0 win over Deep Creek. The Warriors went to 1-0 as Ben Grady and Gavin Gregory combined to allow two hits from the mound. Grady pitched four innings and struck out three, while Gregory finished the game in the fifth inning. Gray got the win.
The Warriors were up 2-0 after two innings before pouring in seven runs in the fourth inning to put the lead to nine.
Cameron Pittman and Grady had two hits each. Both Grady and Pittman, along with Chris Mitchell, added doubles on the evening as well. Nansemond River totaled nine RBIs with Ayden Stuffel leading with three.
Nansemond River will go on the road to take on Grassfield Thursday evening.
