Virginia Warren Gilchrist, 92, of Battery Avenue, Suffolk, transitioned Friday, March 8, 2019, at her residence. A wake will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Metropolitan Baptist Church 125 County St., Suffolk. Dr. Linwood Gilchrist will deliver the message of comfort. She will be laid to rest in Saint Paul’s Holiness Church Cemetery, Surry.
