Suffolk Police are investigating the Tuesday morning discovery of an unidentified body.

The body, that of an adult female, was discovered “in the southern part” of the city, according to a press release from city spokeswoman Diana Klink. She said the city could not be more specific on the location or circumstances due to the ongoing investigation.

The body was transported to the Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and identification.
