Six locals charged in Petersburg

Six people from Suffolk were charged Monday in connection with a Petersburg robbery, according to Petersburg Police.
Officers responded to the 600 block of South Crater Road in reference to a person being robbed, according to a press release from Petersburg. Officers made contact with the victim and gathered suspect information and a vehicle description.
The vehicle was encountered a few hours later in Colonial Heights, and the suspects were taken into custody without incident, the press release stated. Four adults and two juveniles were charged with robbery, conspiracy and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
The adults are Luis Portalatin, Vonteevon Ray, Karl Stallings and John Wiggins, according to the press release. The juveniles’ names are not being released due to their age.
