NSA goes 2-0 in double-header

The Lady Saints softball team played a double-header in Richmond last weekend and went 2-0.
The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team played in two games Saturday against St. Margaret’s School and Flint Hill High School. Through five games, they are 5-0 on the season.
Against St. Margaret’s, NSA won 5-2. NSA had the lead after one inning at 2-1. After going scoreless in the second inning, St. Margaret’s got on the board again in the third inning, tying the game up at two.
The Lady Saints closed the game out scoring three runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined. Madison Inscoe had the pitching duties, getting her third win of the season while striking out 14. At the plate, she went 2-3 with an RBI. Jessica Chang went 2-3.
In the second matchup of the day, NSA dominated Flint Hill. With a 13-0 win, Reese Byrd pitched a perfect game through five innings striking out seven. Inscoe went 3-4 with three RBIs and a home run. Gabby Infranco went 3-3 with three RBIs. Jenna Elswick went 3-4 with two RBIs.
NSA will face Isle of Wight Academy at home at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. IWA is the reigning Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II state champion.
