Warriors take down Tigers

The Nansemond River High School baseball team got its fourth win of the season with a road victory against Oscar Smith High School.

The Warriors have started off the season 4-0 after grabbing a win over the Tigers. Nansemond River kept Oscar Smith scoreless for six innings before the Tigers got their only score of the game in the seventh. Nansemond River scored three runs in the first inning and continued to add onto its lead, scoring in four of the seven innings.

Ben Grady and Tristian Williams handled pitching duties. Grady struck out eight in the six innings he pitched; he got the win on the mound. He also went 2-3 at the plate with two RBIs and a run. Cameron Pittman went 2-3 with three runs. Bryson Dansberry, Cameron Pittman and Caleb Pittman added doubles.

The Warriors will host Great Bridge High School at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
