Man succumbs to injuries from Monday crash

A man involved in a single-vehicle accident on April 22 died in the hospital Sunday morning, according to a city press release.
Irvin L. Humphries, 78, of Wilmington, N.C., succumbed to his injuries at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The crash occurred Monday around 1:20 p.m., when a pickup truck traveling westbound in the 1900 block of Portsmouth Boulevard reportedly ran off the road and struck several trees.
Humphries was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He and his dog were the only occupants of the vehicle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
