The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball team took a 5-1 loss to Steward School Tuesday evening.
The Saints went to 10-6-1 on the season with the loss. Steward scored the first run of the game in the third inning. The Saints didn’t get on the board until the fifth inning, but that same inning, Steward added four runs to take the 5-1 lead. Steward was able to hold off the rest of the game for the win.
Nic Psimas and Nate Martin handled pitching duties for the Saints, with Psimas taking the loss on the mound. The Saints totaled only four hits on the evening, with Jordan Crosland scoring the team’s only run.
The Saints came into this week ranked No. 4 in the current state baseball poll. NSA will now shift its focus to the conference tournament.
