A pedestrian was injured in an accident on North Main Street Tuesday morning.

The accident happened at 9:05 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Main Street, according to a city press release.

The pedestrian, an adult male, was struck by a passenger vehicle. He was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene, the press release stated.

The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
