The Nansemond River High School and King’s Fork High School girls’ soccer teams both kick off their regional tournament appearances Wednesday evening.

With a 10-6 record, the Lady Warriors have earned the No. 6 seed in their region playoffs and will take on Princess Anne High School, which holds the No. 3 seed. Nansemond River has played a tough schedule throughout this season, taking on some of the best teams in Hampton Roads. They believe that has helped prepared them for the playoffs.

Last season, the Lady Warriors fell short in the regional playoffs by taking a loss to Maury High School. The Lady Warriors finished up the latter part of the season strong. Nansemond River and Princess Anne will face off Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Todd Stadium in Newport News.

King’s Fork will head on the road to take on Warhill High School. The Lady Bulldogs, like the Lady Warriors, have faced a tough schedule this year. The Lady Bulldogs have one of the top scorers in Suffolk and South Hampton Roads with Lonni Cox.

The Lady Bulldogs will be at Warhill High School at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
