Former Nansemond River High School standout Kelly Lafferty was an All-Conference selection for Allegheny College.

The Allegheny softball team went 8-23-1 this year in Lafferty’s second year. It followed a strong freshman season where she was the Newcomer of the Year in conference and an All-Conference member.

This season, she was able to make the North Coast Athletic Conference honorable mention team.

She led Allegheny with a .352 batting average, to go alongside a .459 on-base percentage. She started and played in 29 games, amassing 32 hits, 21 runs and 12 RBIs. Lafferty also led the team in doubles with 10 and in walks with 17.
