Police investigate accidental shooting
Suffolk Police are investigating an accidental shooting that left one person injured on Tuesday evening.
The shooting was reported at 6:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Main Street, according to a city press release. Preliminary investigation found that an adult male accidentally discharged a firearm in the parking lot and suffered an injury not thought to be life-threatening.
The man was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital for further treatment, the press release stated.
The investigation is ongoing.
