Willie McKinley Boone

Willie McKinley Boone, of 205 Prospect Lane, passed away on June 8, 2019. Affectionately known as “Dump,” Willie was born Aug. 5, 1946, to the late Eugene and Mediann Boone. He loved taking trips, playing cards and eating good food. Willie worked for years at Paramount Industrial Company, in Norfolk, and most recently worked part time at S&L Lawn Service. Willie loved attending events with family and friends, always arriving two hours early. He also loved his community of friends at Magnolia Gardens.
Willie was a member of Zion Christian Church, Suffolk, where he was active in the Men’s Fellowship.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mediann Boone, and his niece, Brittany Boone. He is survived by six brothers, Eugene (Judy) Boone, Samuel (Janet) Boone, Robert Earl Boone, Tyrone (Sharon) Boone, Leon (Vanessa) Boone and the Rev. Tony (the Rev. Melodie) Boone; one sister, Evangelist Sandra B. (Avon) Knight; one stepsister, Elaine Thornton; two aunts, Cornelia Brown and Ellen Mitchell; his nephews and nieces, Eugene Boone III, Tyia Boone, Samuel Boone Jr., Sonya Navarre, Melody Boone, Andri Knight, Latoya Boone, Brandon Knight, Brian Boone and Bryson Boone; and a host of great-nieces and -nephews, close relatives, friends, and his favorite dog, Lilly.
The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019, at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 George Washington Highway, Chesapeake. The Family Hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Zion Christian Church, 5200 Quaker Drive, Suffolk, followed by the homegoing celebration at 11 a.m.
